Deadpool video game gets current gen remake on Xbox One and PS4

This rehash of the original will include all the DLC and such for a reported fifty bones. Not sure if this might be worthwhile or is just a cynical cash in with the movie looming on the horizon.

The cutscenes were fun, and can be viewed on youtube if that's your thing.

From Gamestop's tweet:

Just announced! is coming to & on Nov 17. Pre-order your copy today:

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor looking good...

Joystiq put up their Meta-Review, an aggregate of various sites' reviews, of the multi-platform Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor. So, yeah,. it's a good game by almost all accounts.

In Shadow of Mordor you play Talion, a supernaturally empowered ranger who has every reason to want to take out Sauron and his lackeys. The best part, for me, is that it is an open world game that allows you to pursue your quests and sidequests in the manner you see fit. Also, it was written by the lead writer of Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption.

There are five different pre-order bonuses and they can be found at the game's website.

XBLA Batman Game?

[reposted from Joystiq]
Back in February, there was a rumor going around, based on a few listings at UK retailers, that Warner Brothers was working on a Batman game specifically made for Xbox Live Arcade. At the time, the rumored title was "Gotham City Impostors," but with little more than that the story sounded as believable as Jason Todd coming back to life.

But now, Superannuation has unearthed registrations by Warner Brothers for the BatmanImpostors.com web domain, as well as BatmanRedHoods.com and BatmanHushGame.com. Now, the story seems about as likely as ... Jason Todd coming back to life.

Of course, this doesn't confirm an XBLA game -- Warner Brothers could just be registering these in advance of the Batman: Arkham City release, or picking them up for some unrelated reason. Impostors, as it is spelled, is a storyline from Detective Comics last year, while Hush is a well-known Batman villian. Keep your Detective Vision turned on, folks.

Street Fighter HeroClix Report

[Reposted from HeroClix World]
01-25-2011: It's time to start an official Street Fighter HeroClix page here on HeroClix World. While we don't have anything directly from Wizkids yet, we do have a very reliable first-hand sighting.

A friend of mine went to the Clix-a-thon last week and was thrilled to see a slide show showcasing the new Street Fighter HeroClix! Here's what he had to report...

•There are 24 figures
•The sculpts are absolutely "gorgeous"
•Akuma's sculpt has shadow trails!
•Figures to be sold in indivdual blind boosters, $2.99 per booster, 1 figure per booster.
•Purchasing a case should almost guarantee a full set (or be extremely close)
•There is a Ryu and "Evil Ryu"... different sculpts.
•All figures are in an iconic action pose.

Oh, and we do know that Street Fighter HeroClix is fully compatible with current superhero HeroClix (as Wizkids has already mentioned).
This sounds like the single-figure boosters that will be available for Green Lantern. We can probably assume those will be at this $2.99 price point.

X-men Destiny Teaser Trailer

[From GT]

You've Got One Chance

It's always nice to see something new and different in video games, something that doesn't fall neatly into an established genre. As the industry balloons to the size of Hollywood, and only "safe bets" are backed, indie and homebrew games have become the outlet for innovation.

Which brings us to One Chance by AwkwardSilenceGames. In One Chance you play a cancer researcher who has unwittingly insured the destruction of the human race. You are faced with various choices about how you deal with humanity's final days and as the game states, you only have one chance... There are no saves, no retries. You live with the consequences of your actions which makes for a surprisingly compelling experience.

Check it out at newgrounds.

Welcome to... Marvel Brothel?

This is one of the oddest things I've seen in a while.

Reposted from Rock Paper Shotgun:
Imagine if Professor Xavier decided that fighting battles so that the battles might stop was stupid. Imagine if he gave up fighting evil mutants. Imagine if, instead, he decided to bring about the acceptance of mutants with the power of love. Imagine a Brazilian man made a sim game of this for his brother’s Birthday using RPG Maker 2003. That is Marvel Brothel.
I suppose if the world can be saved through a judicious application of violence it can be saved by a massive superhero orgy too. Alan Moore would probably approve anyway. (Mike)

Definitely a WIP but it does looking promising. Hopefully the combat system will be as robust as they're promising. I like the bullet deflection for example. (Mike)

Interrogate thugs in the upcoming Arkham City

From Comics Alliance.
Just like in the comics, Batman will be able to track down likely informants from a criminal database, identify them in a scuffle, and then "interrogate" them for clues.

Captain Universe in Shattered Dimensions

via Joystiq
Gamestop will be offering a "Cosmic Spider-Man" costume to pre-order customers for Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions. Obviously this is a Captain Universe costume.

Our guesses on the unrevealed "dimensions" in the game? 1602 and 2099. (Mike)

Iron Man 2 video game studio closed

From Kotaku:
Sega is officially shutting down the developer of its two Iron Man games, the studio formerly known as Secret Level. The developer was best known for its work on a pair of Iron Man game adaptations and Golden Axe: Beast Rider, the latter of which found very few fans.
This doesn't mean the game is canceled. It will release alongside the movie next month.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions Trailer

The trailer for the upcoming Spider-man game from Beenox.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions

From the press realese about the upcoming Spider-Man video game, Shattered Dimensions:

As Spider-Man, players will experience a wide variety of gameplay and dramatic environments. The Amazing Spider-Man experience delivers innovative web combat and visuals in a world that pays tribute to the classic era of the legendary Super Hero. In contrast, Spider-Man Noir features a cunning and covert depiction of Spider-Man, who utilizes shadows to perform stealth takedowns in a 1930's-influenced, black-and-white cinematic environment.
"Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions delivers an original storyline that bridges four unique worlds," said Rob Kostich, Head of Marketing, Activision Publishing, Inc. "Each action-packed universe will have its own detailed art design and thrilling missions, challenging gamers to use new skill sets to defeat enemies as they unlock powerful new moves and progress through the game."
Penned by acclaimed Marvel comic book writer Dan Slott, the story takes players on a mission to capture the magical energy of the Tablet of Order and Chaos, which has been shattered and scattered across parallel universes. Gamers are challenged to battle fan-favorite villains such as the lethal Kraven and a custom, never-before-seen Noir version of Hammerhead, in a quest to restore the fabric of reality.
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is developed by Beenox and not yet rated. Fans can learn more about Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and the next worlds to be revealed by visiting www.SpiderManDimensions.com.

While I'm tired of the underwhelming Spider-Man games from Treyarch, I would have preferred to see a larger developer with a more impressive history take on this franchise. Let's hope it good! (Mike)
